Yiddish Intermediate: Reading Bashevis Singer

Bashevis is one of the greatest writers of the Yiddish language. Over these eight weeks, we will read short stories that showcase the best of his work: mystical, farcical, rooted in Jewish history and hilariously modern. Classes will be conducted mostly in Yiddish, but translations can be provided for students in need of support.
