Yiddish Beginners
Course description
Yiddish Beginners with Motl
Mondays 6:00 - 8:00pm
House of Annetta, Spitalfields, London
This class is for students who already know the Yiddish alphabet (the alef-beys) and have studied Yiddish for at least one term or equivalent.
Through a combination of textbooks and supporting materials we will continue our study of the Yiddish language. Much of what we learn will come via discussions of Yiddish history, focusing on the world of Yiddish-speaking radicals and songs, texts, and films connected to the seasons, festivals, and important historical events. Classes will be interactive and conversational.
Our aim for the end of the term will be to have covered how to speak, read, write, and understand simple sentences in Yiddish in the past, present, and future tenses.
If you have any questions about the course or the level, please email us at babelsblessing@gmail.com.
